Silver tails and storms

She carved her name in legend and in bone,

A buccaneer who claimed the sea her own,

Her cutlass sharp, her heart a guarded keep,

Until she heard the singing from the deep.

No sailor's doom in that celestial sound,

But something lost that finally had been found—

A voice that spoke of yearning, wild and free,

The mirror of her own sweet agony.

"Who calls across the midnight-silver foam?"

The captain cried. "These waters are my home!"

Up rose a head of coral-tangled hair,

Eyes green as storms, a face beyond compare.

"I am the one who's waited here so long

For someone who could hear my truest song,

Not lust for gold or conquest of the main,

But love that burns like sunshine after rain."

The siren's tail caught moonbeams as she moved,

Her beauty wild, untamed, and unimproved

By mortal standards—she was ocean-born,

As dangerous and lovely as the morn.

The pirate felt her hardened armor crack,

No treasure map could lead her spirit back

To who she was before this fateful night

When siren-song became her guiding light.

"Come down to me," the sea-born woman said,

"Let waves become the pillow for your head,

I'll show you gardens coral-kissed and bright,

Where love can bloom beyond the reach of sight."

"Come up to me," the captain answered back,

"And I'll unfurl my sails, both white and black,

We'll chase horizons to the edge of time,

Your song the rhythm to my sailing rhyme."

Instead they met where sea and starlight blend,

Where neither world need end where the other begins,

The siren rose, the pirate descended down,

Until love made them both the ocean's crown.

Now legends tell of ships that by night

And see two women dancing in moonlight,

One with a sword, one with a silver tail,

Who chose each other over wind and gale.

The sea belongs to those who dare to dream,

And love that flows like any ancient stream

Will find its way through storm and spite and foam—

Two wild hearts who've finally found their home.
