This is inspired by the popular game, Among Us. So if you see any similarities that is why. But the plot is 100% mine.

Chapter 3: Breakfast and Responsibilities

Chan was startled awake by an obnoxious, and insistent beeping. It stopped after about 30, painful seconds. He sat up and stretched, shifting slightly to peak at Felix. He, somehow, was still sleeping soundly in a cocoon of blankets. Chan huffed, a little bit jealous. It took him hours to get to sleep last night. His insomnia obviously didn't care about his new situation that definitely needed rest. Deciding he should probably get up, he stood and padded over to Felix.

Chan shook his shoulder softly, "Hey, Felix,"

Felix shot awake, and in his surprise to get up, he got tangled in his blankets and fell off the bed.

"Ah!" He yelped

Chan could barely hold back a snicker. He reached out to help him up,

"You alright, mate?"

Felix half heartedly glared at him,

"I can see you trying not to laugh. Leave me alone, I am always scared when I wake up," he grabbed Chan's offered hand and pulled himself up.

"Sorry," Chan coughed to disguise his giggle, "Anyway we should get ready for the day. See what this place has for food."

"Yeah, okay."

Both boys hurried to shower, grabbing clothes from the wardrobe. Felix grabbed a pink shirt, Chan an orange one. Chan went first, and was outraged to find that there was no warm water option. Having the quickest and coldest shower of his life, he came out looking like a disgruntled koala. When he went to warn Felix of this tragedy, he simply laughed and said, "Cold showers are good for you! I always take mine cold." Chan was horribly offended with this revelation about his new friend, he himself needing showers straight from Hell.

Chan wandered over to the mirror, trying to tame his bed head, but failing. He really looked at himself. All Chan saw was a broken man, becoming elated at the prospect of being useful. He was terrified, why was this horrible, awful, traumatizing situation… making him excited?

Felix's kind voice broke the intense staring contest he was having with himself,

"Chan? Ready to go?" He looked worried.

"Yeah… yeah. Let's go."

They soon realized that they had no idea where the kitchen was, if any, so they decided to head towards the auditorium again to get a look at the map. But the delicious smell of fresh pancakes made its way to their noses. And with no further communication between the two, they both went to follow the smell to its source.

It did indeed lead them to a kitchen, the main color was red. There were counters lining the back walls, and an island in the middle of the room. Ingredients, and dirty dishes covered the counters. A vaguely familiar, blue haired boy was intensely focused on the stove, and didn't hear them come in. So this was the one responsible for the wonderful smell.

"Mind if we have some?" Chan spoke up.

The boy flinched and whipped around to look at them.

"U-um, s-sure," he squeaked, turning back around to not look at them, and shoveled a couple pancakes onto some plates for them.

"H-here," he handed them over, still very nervous.

"These look amazing, thank you, uh, sorry what is your name?" Felix inquired.

"Oh, my name is, um, Jeongin," the blue haired boy introduced.

"It's nice to meet you, Jeongin, let's all sit down and eat together, yeah?" Chan suggested, and they all moved to the chairs surrounding the island. Chan and Felix sat next to each other, Jeongin sat on the opposite side in front of them, "My name is Chan, and this is my roommate, Felix."

"Hi…" Jeongin said.

"Why are you here all by yourself, Jeongin? Where's everybody else?" Chan asked.

"Oh, this isn't the only kitchen. I picked this one because it was smaller, I hoped there would be less people. I assume everyone is over there, it already has a fridge and pantry full of food. This one only has ingredients… And I like to cook so…" Jeongin explained, a little shy.

"Well, thank goodness for that! These are incredible!" Felix exclaimed through a mouth of food.

Jeongin rubbed the back of his neck, ears turning red,

"Ah… thank you,"

"Now, what is that yummy smell?!" A tall man with long blond hair, (who was also unnaturally pretty) skipped into the kitchen where they sat.

His skipping halted as his gaze bore into the stack pancakes they were eating.

"Oh. My. God. Are those, PANCAKES?!" He screeched.

"Yes… uh, you're welcome to have some if you'd like," Jeongin offered.

"YES! Yes please! Thank you, you amazing person!" The blond man said, pulling up a chair next to Jeongin, unaware of Jeongins discomfort, and piling up a plate of his own with a mountain of pancakes.

"Hungry are we?" Chan smirked, amused, "What's your name? I'm Chan,"

"I'm Hyunjin! Nice to meet you Chan, and you-" he looked at Felix,

"Felix."

"-Felix, but ESPECIALLY you, maker of pancakes, what's your name?"

"I'm Jeongin," he ducked his head to hide another blush at the praise.

The boys had a light conversation about nothing while eating, but once all the pancakes were gone they all knew they had to go see what tasks they had. They didn't want to die on the first day because they were lazy after all. Since none of them really held any other loyalties, the boys just decided to travel to the auditorium together.

Once they got there, they found a handful of people surrounding the holo-board as well. Finding out what jobs they had, and where they had to go. Chan found his name, next to it the assignment labeled, "wires", whatever that meant. He found it to the left of the auditorium, and it was a task with many locations. It gave him a chance to explore the ship at least.

"What are you guys doing?" Chan asked.

"I've got to refill the water jugs down in the basement storage. I didn't even know this ship had a basement," Hyunjin said.

"Me neither. It just says "meal duty" for me, does that mean I just cook for everyone?" Jeongin questioned.

"I guess even the System recognized your amazing cooking Jeongin! What about you, Felix?" Chan looked over at him.

Felix looked as if he could barely contain his excitement.

"I'm going to go work in the Medbay! I'm really happy," he grinned a full, toothy smile.

"Oh yeah? Why?" Chan was happy to see Felix excited, he has been on edge this whole time. It was nice to see him relax a little.

"Well, it is a little embarrassing… but I worked as a sort of assistant to my mother, she was a nurse. I know a lot about medicine, and I was hoping to go into that field one day…" he trailed off.

"That's awesome, Felix! You must be really smart!" Jeongin said, honestly impressed.

Was? Was a nurse?

Chan thought, but he decided not to pry, and instead spoke his agreement to Jeongin statement.

They all went their separate ways, Chan's mind restless. Putting his hands in his jean pockets, he made his way towards the first electrical . He hoped there would be some sort of instruction, or this will go very poorly.

Okay, I literally wrote this in 1 hour and a half. I don't know how either, inspiration struck.
