Lucerys is a name of Greek origins in relation to the males nickname, Luke. It derives from the meaning “Light Giving”. This name has been used through many generations of Targaryen men and is considered a family name.

House Targaryen of King's Landing is a noble family of Valyrian descent who once ruled the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. The Targaryen sigil is a three-headed dragon breathing flames, red on black. The house words are "Fire and Blood".

Lucerys is the eldest son of King Viserys and Queen Eomma of house Targaryen, rulers of the seven kingdoms and protector of the realm. He has been named the King’s heir as his eldest and only boy, and while expectations remain the same destiny has a funny way of making shifts. Born during the Winter Solstice on the night of the Full Moon, Lucerys immediately became the crown jewel of the royal family and heavy burdens have been weighing him down since day one.

Lucerys is a tall male with a particularly slim build, though he is toned and muscular from battle practice and riding Morghon. His hair is an intense silver tone, growing naturally that way like the rest of his family and his eyes are so blue that at times they appear violet in a low light. All of which are common attributes of the Targaryen family.

His expression is commonly stoic, serious, or stern. Rarely does he smile and never in front of strangers. He likes to remain serious, even if he doesn’t take to his responsibilities with the same sentiment.

Lucerys is far from a conversationalist. With a history like his, most tend to avoid his company. He is brooding, [ci]with an ego as big as his beastly dragon. Because of the prophecy of Fire and Ice, Lucerys has been treated as an omen rather than a Prince by many of the court though his parents deny the claims and love him dearly still. He rebels his responsibilities, denies his claims, and consistently disappoints his parents.

ʰⁱˢᵗᵒʳʸ

Lucerys was born 19 years ago on the night of the Winter Solstice full moon. Like every other Targaryen, he was gifted a dragons egg in his cradle and when the beast hatched his parents were thrilled. A few years ed and Viserys was crowned King, making his son now the Prince and heir to the throne at just three years old and his mother was announced to be pregnant with their second child. By the age of ten, Lucerys was growing into a strong, kind, and comionate young Prince. He was proving to be a noble gentleman, loved by all the Kingdom and already revered for what type of King he would make.

On one afternoon, he was training with Morghon, his dragon. The beast was now roughly the size of a horse and proving to be difficult and aggressive. Though it didn’t deter Lucerys and his bond with the dragon was strong. When working on teaching Morghon to breath fire on command, the dragon keeps looked on with caution, aware of the nature of the feisty creature and on this day in particular his reputation worsened. One of the guards arrived in the dragons den, sent by Viserys to collect the young Prince. But the boy had a spout of stubbornness, refusing to leave as he wanted to spend more time with his dragon. When the guard became insistent, going as far as to grab Lucerys’ shoulders, Morghon exhibited his intense protective tendencies and breathed fire for the first time. Except, it wasn’t flames but rather breath so cold it killed the guard instantly, freezing his blood, skin, and bones and dropping his body like a statue. Thus begun the fear of Lucerys and Morghon as the prophecy of Ice and Fire seemed to be coming true…

A couple of years after Morghon was exposed as an ancient and thought to be extinct Ice Dragon, a new found fear developed toward him and his rider. So much so, that one day, on Lucerys’ twelfth name day, he was taken out for a celebratory hunt with the many lords and noblemen of houses of Westeros. He was particularly fond of the Hand of the King and the eldest son of the Stark House who had attended the party in favor of his father, and thus the pair took the boy off deeper, alone to look for the stag the hounds had scented the night before. It was a beautiful day though a cloud of fog clung to the air. Lucerys dismounted his horse upon seeing tracks and excitedly exclaimed to the men that they were close when suddenly a blade was shoved into his gut. Shock covered his expression, blood poured from around the dagger as he fell to his knees and stared into the eyes of the Hand. They were attempting to murder the prophetic omen destined to destroy the kingdom, to eliminate the threat before he became a real problem. Unlucky for them, Morghon was close, he smelled his rider, sensed his distress, tasted the blood on the air, and arrived before they could finish him off to devour the two men who attempted to dispatch the boy. After that, Lucerys was changed… his entire persona shifted after the betrayal. He was no longer soft and kind, but as cold and brutal as the beast who saved his life.
