I picked up a variety of local peaches and nectarines at the farmer’s market on Saturday. It worked out so perfectly, one ripe and ready each day.

There are so many varieties it’s hard to pick a favorite.

But this last one! It’s a peach that has the fuzzy skin and texture of a firm peach, but the flavor of a nectarine. Wow!

Peaches, nectarines, and other stone fruits are one of my favorite mid-summer delights. I have great memories as a kid sinking my teeth into fresh peaches, and plums and juice running down my face and hands.

The pictures don’t do it justice. I hope they are at the market this Saturday.
