hello buddies!
today I started to start practicing minimalism
i did a lot of research on it
minimalism is literally
❝ the practice of having less ❞
basically this means you practice having the less amount of things and are happy with it
this does not mean you have to throw away all your items, this just means you have less or one of each
this is how i started my minimalism
go through your closet/wardrobe
create 3 piles; clothes you want, the “maybe” pile, and clothes that don’t fit or you don’t want anymore or just don’t wear and probably never will
again minimalism does not mean you have to give away clothes that you enjoy to wear!
if you genuinely wear something often and enjoy it please do not give it away
after you should see how much you actually truly want and wear and it probably isn’t as much as you thought
with the “maybe” pile i usually try on the clothes and if i still don’t know whether i want them or not i’ll sleep on it
but if i don’t wear it ever or it’s been in my “maybe” pile for years then maybe it’s time to let it go
declutter your phone and other electronics
turn off most notifications except for important ones
delete the apps you don’t need or use
put everything into groups/folders by category
not only then is it nice to look at but it’s more organized and less messy looking
i know for me once i did this i felt so much better and less stressed out by my phone
as for other electronics...
clear out your email at least once a day don’t let them build up and unread
unsubscribe to all those useless emails you get!
clear out all unwanted or unneeded pictures
REUSE REUSE REUSE
if you are looking for minimalism it’s important that you reuse things
obviously not things like toilet paper or other waste
but if you’re not going to reuse something, donate it
limited waste
speaking of waste...
when i say limited i mean LIMITED
try to make small meals and reduce the amount of food you waste
use reusable straws and plates etc etc
the whole environmentalists movement!!
practice wanting less
obviously we are human, we want things
but really think, do i need this? will i use this in a few weeks?
buying more and more things builds up and then we are back to square one
well anyway thank you for reading!
should i make a youtube video about this on my channel?

I have really enjoyed reading Marie Kondo's book on tidying and I really recommend it to everyone and anyone who wants to have a clean room for eternity! I think minimalism is so great, we live in the world in which it is thought that having more is better but I truly believe that it isn't and only have things that are essential and truly spark joy can cause you to be more grateful for what you have and overall a happier person
i love this (^ ^) i will definitely look at the book!
