Hello everyone! I haven't really introduced myself yet, so I am Sem and I am currently 16 years in this little world attending the junior class.

What do I want to become?

I fancy to be a neurologist or a cognitive scientist! The brain is utterly intriguing and allows us to express ourselves the way we do.

I am eager to learn more about it and improve mankinds understanding of the brain with research, so that diseases like Meningitis, Encephalitis or brain abscesses can be easierly cured.

How am I working towards this career?

This year I decided to visit a school that offers medical courses which started a month ago. In the next three years I will be learning the basics of the human body before I'll begin to study Medicine in college.

For now I am reading books about science and anatomy in order to prepare. I am also the leader of the Medical and Science Amino which motivates me to study further.

What inspired me to choose this career?

My aunt studied Medicine and told me a lot about it what inspired me two years ago to do it one day as well. Firstly, I was more interested in Psychology but then I discovered Neurology which connects my love for Psychology with Medicine. I want to do a job where I can help people and I think Neurology is a great way to do that.

I don't want to focus on money so much instead focus more on enjoyment of the work that I'll be doing the most part of my life.

Do you have advice for people who prepare for this career?

Where there's a will there's a way! (As my grandmother likes to say) If you are determined enough to pursue to career of a neurologist you can do it!

I am also studying very hard to be able to study Medicine one day. But keep in mind that social relationships are important to feel reassured in what you are doing. They will motivate you each day and keep you alive.
