It takes place part of the time in Chicago and Texas, part of the time in Mexico City (aka Ciudad de México, or simply as CDMX). It's intergenerational. The old parts take place during the Mexican revolution, while it goes all the way to the Vietnam war. But don't think it's a war book. It's so much more!
