Definition
Denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex.
In other words, someone that doesn't identify as the sex they were assigned at birth.
People who are transgender experience gender dysphoria which is the discomfort living as the assigned sex. For example a trans person may feel uncomfortable when called the pronoun that corresponds with their assigned sex. (To be considered transgender you need some forms of gender dysphoria)
Types of transgender people
FtM
Female to Male: Someone who was assigned female at birth but identifies as male. Typically use He/Him pronouns
Other :
Transman, Transguy, Transboy, Trans masculine, F2M
Example:
His name is Alex, he is a Transman and he's amazing.
MtF
Male to Female: Someone who was assigned male at birth but identifies as female. Typically use She/Her pronouns
Other :
Transwoman, Transgirl , Trans feminine , M2F
Example:
Her name is Alex, she is a Transwoman and she's amazing.
Nonbinary
Someone that dose not identify as male or female. Typically use They/Them
Other :
Enby, NB, Third-gender
Example:
Their name is Alex, they're Nonbinary and they're amazing
