               hold a grudge for a surprisingly long time.

               This is a rare occurrence, but he’s been

               known to be upset sometimes, especially

               when friends did family are involved. Other

               Dakota is a friendly one.

               Dakota is able to sense emotions in other

               people, and can even use his powers to

               control emotions as well. This allows him

               to be more sensitive to other people since

               he knows what they’re feeling, though he

               has slipped up occasionally and used

               them against someone else.

               Dakota has basic self defense training,

               which he’s kept up with to the point of

               being able to hold his own in a fight. Given

               his families history, he’s also very in tune

               with his powers and knows how to control

               them so he doesn’t get overwhelmed by

               emotions around him.

              𝑩𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚.

               Infancy;

               Dakota was born on October 14th, on a

               perfect fall day. It was a joyous day for

               everyone in the family, which included

               aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended

               family. It was a big family, and despite that

               everyone was still just as close. They all

               belonged to the same group, a group

               called the Divine which most people

               believed were a cult more than the

               innocent family they claimed themselves [I]                to be.

               Childhood;

               Dakota grew up surrounded with people

               who always seemed rather happy. He

               mirrored them in every way, thinking that

               they were just like any family except better.

               Sensitivity and empathy was something

               that was treasured in the home and Dakota

               picked up on it quickly. It was too soon to

               learn about his position in the family, but [I]                he knew that he was growing up to be

               important. At least, that’s what his parents

               always said. He was homeschooled by one

               of his moms sisters, but he was still just as

               intelligent as any other child his age, since

               he loved to read. Some books were

               forbidden if they were too dark or went

               against their beliefs, but he learned a lot

               for a kid his age.

               Teenage Years;

               Dakota’s teen years were busy and full of

               learning about his origins hundreds of

               years ago. At the age of 13, he was

               welcomed into the Divine with welcome

               arms. There was certain rituals for newly

               accepted , ones that gave a very

               specific gift - empathy. By the end of the

               three day process, he was able to

               understand emotions on a deeper level

               than anyone. Everyone in his family did,

               though they weren’t all as powerful as

               each other. Some could only feel emotions

               on a basic level and only broad emotions

               like being happy or sad while others could

               go as far as manipulating peoples

               emotions on top of sensing them. None

               were used maliciously, however, and it was

               mostly just to get a deeper understanding

               of each other, which is what the Divine

               group was all about. Dakota grew up in this

               group still being homeschooled and only

               being friends with his cousins who were a

               similar age to him. Things changed when

               things like heroes became a thing - the

               stories of vigilantes, superheroes,

               supervillains, and anything of the sort were

               told to them in a way to vilify everyone no

               matter the motive. It was around this time

               they were taught to fight, and Dakota was

               always unsure if this was normal or newly

               added because of the heroes. Than again,

               these lessons were done by family and

               they were surprisingly knowledgeable

               about how to take out men twice his size in

               less than a minute. Dakota questioned

               some things, but was overall compliant.

               The first person to question it ended up

               missing - it was his cousin Dan, who

               decided to stop training to stay in his

               room. He was never super powerful with

               his gift, to the point where people doubted

               if he even had one. Dakota could feel his

               frustration from all over the house before

               one day when they were gone in a blink of

               an eye. Dan was gone, and Dakota never

               understood why.

               Adulthood;

               It was a surprise for everyone when Dakota

               left the Divine and moved to New York.

               They weren’t even aware of his

               whereabouts, he simply left a note for his

               parents and the rest of the family and

               vanished when he was 20. He had

               discovered that they weren’t really as

               honest with him as they claimed, and it

               lead to his long trek to society. It was a

               culture shock to say the least. He was

               unaware of how people lived normally after

               living for 20 years in a cult brainwashing

               him into all of their radical ideas of the

               world being evil because of their ‘dirty’

               way of living and how his family was

               perfect because of their abilities.

               Surprisingly, many people didn’t even

               know about his family. Little was known,

               and it was like he walked into a world

               where they didn’t exist. With the help of

               some friendly people (and learning from

               some embarrassing encounters with

               normal people), he ended up adjusting. He

               got a job with a flower shop owner who

               needed some help as she was aging and it

               was hard to keep up with orders. He thinks

               of her as the family he never had, and she

               sees him as a son and ended up letting

               him move into the apartment above the

               shop until he could afford a place of his

               own. He’s created lies to hide his past, but

               has grown a good reputation even if he

               comes off as odd to other people.

               Current Day;

               Dakota has grown quite a name for

               himself. That is, not being known as

               Dakota but as Insight, the talkative hero

               who is quite fast and known for knowing

               too much about his opponent. He’s not too

               bad of a fighter, as well. He has his own

               costume with signature colors of black and

               green. He’s technically a vigilante, but

               people have mixed feelings considering he

               isn’t as violent as others - lots of his

               attacks tend to be psychological and

               emotion driven. He still has a disdain for

               superheroes, ironically, considering he

               only sees the destruction they caused. His

               unease around them only got worse when

               the snap happened and he was snapped

               away only to come back and find out the

               shop owner who was his only family had

               died during those five years. That’s when

               he made up his own name for himself while

               taking over the shop. A hero who wants to

               be a hero only because he wants heroes to

               be better… taking it apart from the inside,

               so to speak… what could possibly go

               wrong?
