M.ARC AND LAYLA || FANART

     HELLO! :sparkles:

     so, in art class i decided that for my first ever

     colored pencil project i would draw marc and

     layla from moon knight! this has taken me

     wayyy too long (about 9-10 hours), but i’m

     super proud of this as it is my first ever time

     using colored pencils! (i’m asking you to ignore

     marc’s face, and basically his whole side he

     was my test dummy)

      as you can see, this is the scene from episode

      three where marc and layla are talking on the

      boat. i wanted to choose a more colorful scene as

      colored pencil is supposed to be on the more

      colorful side and this was really the only colorful

      scene in the show. :sob: :hand:

     PROGRESS PICTURES :honeybee:

     here are my progress photos! i forgot to take a

      photo of the sketch but these are all taken on

      different days and from different angles with

      different objects in the background, so i think it

      should be easy to see i’m not stealing this.

      (LMAO)

     DAY ONE :

      this is all i got done on day one. i wasn’t very

      confident with my skills so it was MUCH lighter

      than it needs to be (it doesn’t get fixed. i was way

      too lazy to turn around and fix it, plus it was like 3

      days overdue).

     DAY TWO :

      i think i got more confidence on day two, but i

      really didn’t do too much as i only has about an

      hour in class. i finished marc’s other arm and a

      little bit of his jacket that he was wearing.

     DAY THREE :

      this is the one part of the drawing that i

      absolutely despise. i messed up his face, a ton,

      and i didn’t make his knee go out long enough. he

      simply doesn’t look proportionate. i wished i had

      been more patient when doing his face. i rushed

      through it just to try and finish it and i definitely

      should’ve taken more time.

     DAY THREE (PART TWO) :

      i skipped my fourth block class to come back to

      art and try and get a little bit farther into this

      project. day three, part two, is when i started to

      get WAY more confident in my art skills. as you

      can see, the colors are darker and actually match

      the reference a lot more marc’s side does. i

      wanted layla to be perfect so i took my sweet

      precious time on her side.

     DAY FOUR :

      woooo! layla’s torso is done, who cheered? i

      definitely feel like her legs needed a little more a

      difference of color between them but in the

      reference they blend together so i left them

      alone. a mistake on my part.

     DAY FIVE :

      i basically finished layla on this day. i hate her

      hair. originally i was planning to put a border

      around the image but forgot when i started doing

      marc so it was too late to change that now, so i

      had to make her hair extend much farther than it

      needed to.

     DAY SIX :

      i finally started the background. i could’ve

      probably finished but for the last 30 minutes i

      was procrastinating so hard it’s not even funny.

      the background is really tying this drawing

      together, in my opinion of course, but this is when

      i really started to love it.

     DAY SEVEN :

      i HATE the lights, i definitely shouldn’t have gone

      so yellow with them, but that’s okay trial and

      error. other than that, i’m very pleased with how

      things turned out!

     FINAL PROJECT :open_hands:

      yes, this is the same image from day seven.

      shhhh. anyways, i’m very proud of how this

      project turned out. it took me way longer than i

      thought it would, but i did learn some things by

      doing it, and, hey, for my first time ever doing

      colored pencils this isn’t bad at all… i don’t think.
