ㅤㅤ   ㅤ  hi everyone it's choof here to attempt a

the concept of the month challenge. i sort

of spent quite a bit of time contemplating

if i want to try this but finally made up my

mind to go ahead with it lol. hopefully the

prompts from january - june won't take me

too long to catch up with cuz i actually do

want to participate in every prompt. also

i did write a small example earlier for this

month's prompt since i posted the blog

announcing it, but this time my official

entry is going to be about jake sim! the

cover is just jake in a blazer. i thought it

still went well this month's theme being

"detectives", since i usually imagine the

detectives wearing formal attire of any

kind when they're on the job.

what comes to mind when i see jake sim?

well he certainly is an intelligent one, and

i think we are familiar with the idea that it

takes a quick and effective thinker to be

a detective. i've watched so many crime

documentaries and even now it amazes

me how the detectives on some of the

toughest cases are able to connect the

dots and find connections and clues to

get an answer. that type of determination

and skill are some things that resembles

jake. jake is known for being a studious

one in school, and actually had a liking

for things like math and physics! i too

enjoyed science in school and went on

to major in it and eventually work in the

field of science through healthcare, but

physics was never really a top favourite

of mine. so i definitely found jake to be

interesting and funny when he was elated

to receive a physics textbook as a gift.

that's all the more to solidify the fact

that jake is smart and a person who can

work through problems. he also seems

to do quite well with riddles, even when

the riddle is written in korean, jake thinks

quickly and finds an answer. so i really

do think jake would be the mastermind

of picking up on clues and piecing things

together to solve the puzzles he might

face if he were a detective.

the idea of having to solve problems with

just a few clues is not really something i

could do. honestly if it were me, i would

just give up lol. but that probably wouldn't

be jake. this guy has been one of the most

ionate people i have ever seen to do

something that they wanted to do. at such

a young age he made the decision to leave

his home, family, and friends to pursue his

dream of being an idol after being inspired

by bts. and even after the difficulties he had

faced during iland, jake never stopped trying.

he worked hard to hone in on his singing and

dancing skills as well as controlling his facial

expressions on stage. i think part of why he

stood out so much was because his ion

drove him to drastically improve himself in

such a limited amount of time. i can't even

imagine being able to accomplish half of

what jake did under that much pressure not

just from his peers or superiors, but also in

the public eye. so can you just imagine the

pressure he would face if he were to be a

detective? in movies and in real life, many

cases left in the hands of detectives come

with the burden of trying to find an answer.

peers and coworkers would certainly watch

how you fare with your work, with bosses

watching over and furrowing their eyebrows

when there are no new updates to report.

and of course, whenever the police and the

detectives find themselves stumbling through

a problem, the public scrutiny that follows

can be relentless. even when people know

the answer to a case, the time it takes to

find the proper evidence is another hassle.

but i think jake would excel in overcoming

these issues as a detective just as he did

to jump over the hurdles of becoming an

idol in a land and environment he was not

familiar with. he sees things to the end and

makes sure to not cut corners, so he can

achieve things to the best of his ability.

jake is a person with a lot of awareness

to his surroundings, which makes him a

personable guy to talk to and someone

that makes people feel comfortable. this

ability of his not only would make it easy

for him to pick up on hints and clues more

quickly than others, but i also think it would

help a lot if he were a detective who would

maybe do an in person investigation with

the possible suspects. detectives may go

have a conversation with suspects who are

on the loose or being taken in for questioning.

this isn't easy to do when suspects don't

want to confess or get caught and takes

a person who can immediately read the room

and act and change their behaviour as

needed, to coax and convince suspects

to fess up. without a doubt, that would be

jake. he knows how to take care of others

and listen to them, as well as detecting

how people feel and in turn being a person

who is empathetic and comionate. so

he would be able to go undercover and come

off as a person people can trust, or get the

suspects to open up to him because they

would most likely feel as if they can rely

on jake. which is true, but he should use

that to his advantage when necessary for

the greater good. that combined with his

intelligence, seems to be his winning traits

that would likely make him a prized and

well known detective in the area.

a detective i quite well is fictional,

and it's professor hershel layton. there's a lot

of games out there released based on him as

he visits various areas of the country to solve

mysteries as a renowned problem solver. like

all the classic detective stories, he too is based

in london. the uk itself is notorious for having

famous crime stories that puzzled detectives

and police in its time. i would also imagine

jake setting up an office in london to work on

cases worldwide, wearing a fancy blazer or a

suit to display the vibes of a classy business

man. jake himself looks great in specs so he

should wear them to top off the classic look

of professionalism and intelligence. unlike

layton though, i don't know how I feel about

jake in a top hat lol, but a beret would be cute.

layton has an assistant named luke throughout

the series and i think jake would have one too.

or if not an assistant, perhaps a colleague who

works on par as his partner like sunghoon or

jay! or maybe they can just form a trio and be

the famous 02 liners leaving no mystery left

unsolved. layton solves mysterious crime cases

and odd situations during his travels, but not

in the traditional way. as he is created for ds

games, he solves cases and moves on to the

next stage by solving various riddles, games,

puzzles along the way to piece the whole story.

now i have played a majority of these games

and maybe it was because i was a kid, but some

of these puzzles really fried my brain as I tried

to complete the game and overall story. if it

were jake, i'm sure he could do better than me,

and fit in well into layton's world of solving

mysteries the way layton does.

perhaps if jake was not an idol, he could have

become a detective. who knows, but if he did,

i'm sure he would excel at his job and find that

he could be well suited for it!
