Casting Celebs as Book Leads || the risk

hey guys, welcome back to yet another blog from my side and as the title suggests, I'm gonna be continuing with those book lead casting series because it is so much fun and interesting. For this part, I'm choosing the book called the chase and it's gonna be super fun. Anyways, let's get started!

This book follows Brenna Jensen, the confident, razor-sharp daughter of a hockey coach, and Jake Connelly, the cocky, arrogant, way-too-charming captain of a rival team. And oh boy—their chemistry? Off the charts. They’re rivals, opposites, constantly challenging each other, and yet there’s an undeniable pull between them that neither can fight. Brenna’s boldness meets Jake’s smug confidence, and their dynamic is electric.

For Brenna, I’d go with Kim Da Mi. She has that strong, edgy presence. Brenna isn’t a soft or bubbly girl—she’s cool, sarcastic, emotionally guarded, and incredibly smart. Kim Da Mi can play complex female characters so well—think Itaewon Class—and I feel like she’d own Brenna’s vibe. She can do confident, she can do emotionally distant, and when needed, she can break your heart with just a look.

For Jake Connelly, I would choose Rowoon. Yes, he’s tall, handsome, and swoon-worthy—but more than that, he has the charisma to pull off a cocky, charming guy who slowly softens up when he falls hard. Jake is confident, flirty, and sometimes infuriating, but he’s also loyal and respectful underneath the bravado. Rowoon would bring just the right balance of hotness and heart.
