Well, I sure do! Companies sometimes get ahead of themselves and announce projects that soon leave our memories after some time and just never happen. Why? Because along the way we miss it's cancelation! Even after the publicized castings news and production slates. And that happened to one Marvel related project you, may or may not even ! Which one you ask?

One of many Marvel superhero groups, The New Warriors is a traditionally young adult hero team that serves as a counterpart to the Avengers, which started back in 1989. Some may the original team which consisted of Nova, Firestar, Marvel Boy, Namorita and Speedball at the beginning of it all. The group, like most ever changing after the years, revamped with newer faces like Squirrel Girl, Sam Alexander and even Scarlet Spider. Not your very common popularized hero picks. The New Warriors in a sense could be considered a ragtag team on Earth. But, with kids. Teenagers? Young-Adults. It definitely ranges.

PREMISE OF THE SHOW

Six superpowered young people with abilities very different from the Avengers want to make a positive impact in the world, even if they are not quite ready to be heroes.

Sometime in 2016 (yeah that long back) Marvel announced it’s development of the television show, The New Warriors, which at the time was looking for either a streaming outlet or tv network to pick up the project. The TV series was promoted as a comedy-adventure that eventually in 2017 was picked up by the network Freeform, which also aired the now cancelled Cloak and Dagger series as well for two seasons. It was all coming along in 2017, with even a cast being announced which you can check out below.

Production seemed underway with the series 10 episode order for the Freeform Network and pilot testing that received great reactions. Even the cast themselves appeared to had gotten chummy with one another, posting pictures of their dynamic off screen through out the process. Ultimately, The New Warriors project, after all the work, came to stop sometime in November 2018. The Freeform Network stated it no longer had room for the half an hour Marvel show on their schedule.

Back in Marvel's vault, the studio did move to shop around for another network or streaming outlet willing to take bite. Unfortunately for them, the series was just out of luck and officially considered dead by the end of September 2019! That's semi-recent. But, since then, Marvel Studios haven't mentioned the pilot filmed series even with its now booming Disney+. Fans of the comic team were hopeful with Marvel's own platform, however no news of a possible resurgence of the project has ever come to light till this day.
