BTS’s J-Hope’s act of kindness warmed the hearts of many amidst the chilly season!

On February 18, the artist turned 27 and celebrated his birthday by donating 150 million won (approximately $135,400) to ChildFund Korea, a child development organization.

J-Hope stated through ChildFund Korea, “I heard that the number of vulnerable families is increasing significantly due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation. I heard that for children with disabilities is especially urgent. I hope this donation will raise society’s interest in children with disabilities.”

J-Hope’s donation will go towards assisting children with disabilities who are facing financial struggles. It will be used to finance child care, academic , and facility maintenance for children with visual or hearing impairments.

ChildFund Korea recognizes individuals that donate amounts greater than 100 million won (approximately $90,300) by instating them as of the Green Noble Club. J-Hope is the club’s 146th member with 600 million won (approximately $541,700) in total donations.

In 2018, J-Hope donated 150 million won to child patients and help promising students to pursue their dreams. In February 2019, the singer donated 100 million won to his alma mater to fund scholarships and another 100 million won later in December to finance treatment for child patients. In 2020, the artist entrusted 100 million won to assist children from low-income families struggling through COVID-19.

ChildFund Korea commented, “J-Hope’s regular donations are raising interest in children from poor families.”

Thanks to his positive influence, of BTS’s fandom, ARMY, have been inquiring continuously. According to the organization, 118 donations have been made in J-Hope’s name in the past two years.

ChildFund Korea added, “We will do our best to children from low-income families in accordance with the wishes of all donors, including J-Hope.”

The Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) has announced the recipients of its annual Royalties Awards!

On February 18, the Korea Music Copyright Association revealed that Big Hit Entertainment producer Pdogg, who has worked on many of BTS’s hit songs, was both the composer and the lyricist with the highest earnings from royalties in the popular music category in 2020. Pdogg claimed both awards for the third consecutive year, following his wins in 2018 and 2019.

Meanwhile, BTS’s “Boy With Luv“—which is also one of the group’s many songs produced and co-written by Pdogg—was named the song with the highest number of streams in 2020.

Most tracks that reach Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart, which ranks the bestselling foreign language releases and tunes designated as “world” (which is something of a catch-all term on the tally) only spend a few weeks on the list before falling off, while a handful have been able to rack up months somewhere on the roster. This frame, one of the most successful titles in recent memory reaches a special milestone, and it’s one that the band behind the composition has managed before.

BTS and their fans are surely celebrating this time around, as the group’s track “Euphoria” hits 52 weeks on the World Digital Song Sales chart. It remains relatively rare for any piece of music to spend a full year on any Billboard ranking, and whenever one does so, it’s always worthy of noting.

This frame, “Euphoria” leaps from No. 9 all the way to No. 4, giving BTS control over three of the top five spots on this week’s World Digital Song Sales chart, as their other tunes “My Time” and “Filter” sit at Nos. 3 and 5, respectively.

“Euphoria” was originally featured on BTS’s album Love Yourself: Answer, which was released back in 2018, and since then it has come and gone on the World Digital Song Sales chart regularly. Somehow, despite being one of the longest-charting cuts in the ranking’s history, the title never made it to No. 1. Thus far, it has peaked in the runner-up rung, which is rather frustrating, as it has come very close to ruling (including this week).

Amazingly, “Euphoria” is BTS’s lucky thirteenth track to spend at least a full year on the World Digital Song Sales chart. The fan-favorite s fellow smashes like “Idol” with Nicki Minaj, “Mic Drop” with Desiigner, “DNA,” “Boy With Luv” with Halsey and “Dope,” which stands as the South Korean septet’s release with the most time spent on the tally thus far, with 139 weeks.

“Euphoria” was chosen as a favorite among BTS’s massive fan base from the moment it was released, and they have kept it alive ever since. In addition to its impressive performance on the World Digital Song Sales chart, the tune also narrowly missed breaking into the top 10 on the all-genre Digital Song Sales list, where it stalled at No. 12 when it first arrived. The cut also barely failed to place on the Hot 100, Billboard’s most important songs tally. It once appeared at No. 5 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100, which serves as a 25-spot extension of the main tally (which essentially means it landed at No. 105 on a 100-space tally).
