Hello AA, back at it again with another wiki for me today, and this holds a place in my heart, since this is the very first game I ever had when I had a phone for the first time. I never really get to watch the anime as a childhood, but this game was my childhood, and will always be my favorite pokemon game ever. Without anymore information to give, let us begin!

Plot

This game has a very straightforward story, but also pack quite an adventure, especially on side stories, but it is about your main character (Either it’s Brendan or May) moving to your new home which is the Hoenn region. The start of the game is really heart warming since you get to see your neighbors and also to get to know the person next door that will soon be your rival and bestfriend in the series. When you will head out to your new adventure, you get to meet professor Birch being attacked by a zigzagoon, and he told you to use one of his pokemon to help him out. The Pokemons you get to pick are Mudkip, Treecko, and Torchick. After you save him, he’ll give you the pokemon you used, and a pokedex as a reward for helping him, and that begins your amazing journey, either its to catch all of the pokemons or to become the very best like no one ever was. You will not just be a pokemon trainer, but also a savior in your region, from the depths you went through on stopping Team Magma, and Aqua. You will also get to meet strong opponents that will soon later, become your close friends, and becoming close friends with your pokemons. The Plot to be honest, is really something enjoyable, and I will definitely watch this if they decided to make an anime version of Pokemon Emerald, due to how interesting the characters are so much.

Characters

For me I also think that this is the best generation of pokemons especially the main ones, since they are really strong, but also being balanced, so you could pick either one of those 3 pokemons, and you still won’t have any regrets about it. For me I will always go for Mudkip as a starter since he was the first pokemon that I chose when I was a kid, since I like the water element the most. The pokemons here might not be that iconic, but they are still amazing, like Abra, Geodude, and Aron. All of my dream team starting pokemons came from here, just because of how they are so majestic, yet so strong, while being really complex. Not just the pokemons but also humans here have a really enjoyable personalities, like your rival (either its Brendan or May) wanting to be a gym leader in a different city like Slateport, or your father being a powerful gym leader. My favorite character is definitely Steven and Wally because their personalities were so different from the rest. Steven was a bad ass while having a strong main pokemon, that took me forever in defeating. I love Wally since he wasn’t strong, and he was like MIdorya, before he existed, but just weaker. I am kinda glad that Wally wasn’t overpowered like your rival since that was like something realistic, plus he was already content about it even if he’s not winning.

Gameplay

As A Kid, this game took me forever because I battle every wild pokemon that I encounter, without even using a single repel. I am kinda surprised of the patience I had back then, since I don’t really wanna be approached by anyone when I’m on a journey of something in pokemon, so I always have my trusty repel with me. Well the gameplay is still pretty much the same as it always has been with pokemon games, so there’s nothing much to say about this, but what it has that other games doesn’t have is the different types of bikes. Like there was a Mach and Acro Bike I think. One was a super fast bike, and one was a complex bike that could hop, and you could do tricks with it. I did love what they did in the championship league where you basically don’t get to refresh your power points while going upwards in the competition, so you cannot spam moves, and it can be very challenging. I really can’t see anymore differences in the Gameplay area of the game, since it follows the tradition of the pokemon game, but this was still very enjoyable due to how bright and colorful it can be compared to other games. There was a point where I just stopped playing the game because I couldn’t get ed at something, because I never got the first HM Cut, which was really funny.

Overall Thoughts

If anyone wants to play Pokemon games then this will automatically my first suggestion because it is a complete package for me, because from the music it is just amazing that is filled with nostalgia, like the little root town music. This game also has an amazing story for the players to get hooked up to it, plus this game takes awhile to be finish. I really love the legendary pokemons in this game, especially Rayquaza, just how bad ass he is, and the word Legendary fits to him perfectly. From Team Magma vs Team Aqua, then Groudon vs Kyogre, this game never fails to give you tension that are quite limited in some pokemon games for me. I really got the feeling that I am sounding really biased or I am favoring this Game, but I can’t help it since the feeling I had playing this game for the first time is still there, and it places something in my heart for being the gateway of me playing more games that came from Game Boy Advance, like Dragon Ball Buu’s Fury or more. Some of you might ask why I wasn’t able to play this game at a younger age, and that’s because my family is very loyal to one console and that is Playstation.
